Day 1


Sunday, April 7th

You will be picked from the airport or train station of your arrival and taken to the four star Pas de Calais Hotel in the chic St. Germain neighborhood. Our tour will begin with a glass of champagne at the hotel at 6 and a visit of the neighborhood. We will have a welcome dinner near the hotel. Our guide Vincent will be on hand from 2:00 on for anyone wishing to start exploring earlier.

Day 2

Monday, April 8th

We will spend the morning at the Adeline Klam boutique with an introduction to the craft of cartonnage. Lunch will be at the iconic La Durée on the Champs Elysées . In the afternoon we will explore the hidden passages of Paris. After a refresh at the hotel we will dine at La Mascotte in Montmartre and enjoy a “Paris by night” tour.

Day 3 


Tuesday, April 9th

In the morning we will have a guided tour through the museum of Decorative arts followed by a light lunch in a typical bistro. After lunch we will visit the Gobelins museum and have a look behind the scenes at artisans creating the magnificent tapestries and rugs. After a little rest at the hotel we will enjoy an early dinner on a cruise on the Seine.

Day 4

Wednesday, April 10th

After breakfast at the hotel we will head for Versailles to visit le petit Trianon, the famous “cottage” of Marie Antoinette and surrounding gardens.We will have lunch at the charming Veranda restaurant on the grounds of Versailles. We will have a guided visit to the Toile de jouy museum and then back to the hotel for an evening on your own.

Day 5

Thursday, April 11th

We will have our first of two classes with the embroidery teacher Annie Penin.

She has a gorgeous beaded project in mind for us. The class will be held at the Au ver soie offices. Lunch will be nearby at a crepe restaurant. In the afternoon we will visit Sajou, les Brodeuses Parisiennes, Mokuba, the Drogerie and, to,e permitting, a button shop. Dinner will be at the chic Bofinger Brasserie.

Day 6

Friday, April 12th

We will have our second and final morning with Annie. After a light lunch we will visit the exquisite St Chapelle followed by a visit to the unicorn tapestries at the Cluny Museum. After a rest at the hotel we will have dinner on the town.

Day 7 

Saturday, April 13th

After breakfast we will visit the park Monceau followed by a tour of the marvelous residence of Nissan de Commando. Afternoon is on your own. We will have a spectacular au revoir dinner at the Jules Verne restaurant in the Eiffel Tower.

Day 8

Sunday, April 14th

Au revoir. Enjoy you breakfast at the hotel and arranged private transfers to the airport.
